Great Cleveland Duck Race

August 12 @ 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Quack! Quack!
The Mix 104.1 and MixTV.TV Great Cleveland Duck Race is set for Friday, Aug. 12, at Greenway Park in Cleveland, Tennessee!
Established in 2006, the duck race is a free, family-friendly event, where hundreds of rubber ducks are dropped into Mouse Creek to “race” approximately 20 minutes to the finish line, according to a press statement from Sheridan Mosley, WCLE’s communications director.
Participation in the event is free and open to the public.
Prizes for this year’s winners include a Pensacola Beach vacation with $500 spending cash, amusement park tickets and more.
Participants may sign up for the event on the Mix 104.1 App, downloadable at mymix1041.com.
Ducks must be picked up at Don Ledford Automotive Center by Aug. 11.
On the day of the race, participants must stop at the check-in booth and register their duck between 4-6:30 p.m.
The race kicks off at 7 p.m.
Steve Hartline, owner of WCLE, said he is excited by the upcoming event.
“It’s such a fun event that brings the community together, which is what we at Mix 104.1 strive to do: create community,” he said.
Mosley said the event will feature live music from Forever Thirteen, food trucks, vendors from businesses within the region and a watermelon-eating contest starring local celebrities from 4-8 p.m.
Parking is available at Cleveland High School and the old bank building next to Greenway Park.
Debbie Melton, owner of Don Ledford Automotive Center, the race’s sponsor, said the dealership is “honored and thrilled to be a sponsor of the race.”
“The duck race is a staple of our community and it’s exciting every year,” she said. “It’s an event that the entire family can enjoy!”
