Three days of music, foods, dancing, camping, fun and laughter are planned July 26 through July 28, as Ocoee River Jam celebrates year number seven.
The festival, which is returning to a more “grassroots” atmosphere, is being hosted by Adventures Unlimited and the Bus Bar, 522 US Highway 64 in Ocoee.
Headliners for this year’s festival include Big SMO, the Ugly Architect and Jack Pearson.
Big SMO, sponsored by Scorpion Off-road Concepts and Crown Chrysler Jeep, will take the stage on Friday night in conjunction with Scorpion Off-road’s Jeep Night Out.
Saturday night, Ocoee River Jam welcomes the Ugly Architect. Hailing from Colorado, the Ugly Architect has shared stages with the Lumineers, the Haunted Wind Chimes and the Wailers. Their music will take you across the plains, mountains, rivers and valleys. Their original lyrics and music, with an indie folk sound, are blended with a touch of fiddle and a heavy base lick.
Sunday night’s featured artist is the legendary Jack Pearson. Sponsored in part by Chronic Relief, Pearson is a former member of the Allman Brothers Band and has played with a range of popular musicians such as Delbert McClinton, Warren Haynes and Dereck Trucks. A guitarist, singer, songwriter, producer, and session-musician. he best known as an A-list blues/rock lead and slide guitarist.
The Ocoee River Jam also will feature some of the best-known talent to the Ocoee and surrounding area. Attendees will have the pleasure of enjoying music from Share the Road, Anthony Adams, Dagger Blue, Stephen Busie Band, Skelton Key, River Funk, Blue Cumberland, Bad Tattoo, and the students from Burris Music Studio.
Sunday at Ocoee River Jam is “Family Funday.” Throughout the day, children will have an opportunity to participate in several hands-on activities and games. All youth 17 and under are free on Sunday.
Tickets for the event are $20 per day and available at the gate. Weekend passes are $40 and may be purchased online by visiting www.ocoeeriverjam.com or at the gate.
As always, children 12 and under are free on Friday and Saturday and youth 17 and under are free on Sunday. A special treat for this year’s event is the Pitch-a-Tent package, which includes on site camping for $65. Tickets for “Pitch a Tent” package must be purchased in advance at www.ocoeeriverjam.com.
Each year, a portion of the proceeds from Ocoee River Jam go to support area youth organizations and initiatives. In the past years, recipients have included the Benton and Cleveland Boys & Girls Clubs, the youth paddling program Stanley Steamers and People Helping People Backpack program.
