Spann to address Historical Society

Historian Laura Spann will explain how Charleston and Calhoun resolved post-Civil War loyalties to focus on development of neighboring communities in a presentation at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, for the Bradley County Historical Society Quarterly Meeting at the Johnston Tucker Center of  the Cleveland Bradley County Public Library.

The presentation is free and open to the public.   Parking is available in the lot of the History Branch located in the historic Craigmiles House, 833 N. Ocoee Street, as well as at the nearby Monument Building and the library main branch lot.  

Her presentation will span events of the period from 1865 to contemporary times.

Spann, a resident of White Bluff, and is a native of Calhoun and has conducted extensive research into the Calhoun community.

She is a retired educator who currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Charleston-Calhoun-Hiwassee Historical Society, as well as the Board of Directors of the Dickson County Historical and Genealogical Society.
