March 4 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pmFREE
The Cleveland Pops, led by Sarah Pearson, music director-conductor, will present an uplifting concert on Monday, March 4, starting at 7 p.m. This performance will be held at Cleveland State Community College at the George R. Johnson Cultural Center.
The evening will include a number of spirituals and folk songs embodied in our American heritage. Some of the tunes offered will include “Amazing Grace,” “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing,” “On an American Spiritual,” “Song For Hope,” “At A Dixieland Funeral,” “Shenandoah’s Simple Gifts” and “Second American Folk Rhapsody.”
There will be a pre-concert talk at 6:30 p.m. for those interested in learning more about the history and background of some of this music.
As always, the performance is free to the public, presented by 50 local musicians who volunteer their time and talents for the enjoyment of the Cleveland Community. Your continuing attendance, financial contributions and support are greatly appreciated by the many volunteers who comprise the entire band family.
You will find the auditorium at CSCC comfortable, and adequate parking makes the concert easily accessible for all, a spokesman noted.
