This establishment, complete with amazing mountain views, is locally owned and operated by Knut Torpe. He came to the U.S. from Norway in 2015. In his home country, he ran a family owned horseback riding business for much of his adult life. Knut’s father, Eirik Torpe, founded the ranch in 1965 welcoming visitors from all over Europe to come and horseback ride in the majestic mountains of Norway every summer. Knut now offers this same experience in Bradley County all year long!
The horses are secure, surefooted, kind, and of course familiar with the trails. They currently have 18 horses of various breeds. All the horses I met were so beautiful and sweet. One of these horses will become your friend and carry you safely across the hills of Tennessee. It will be a ride to remember.
A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to observe as Channel 9 News filmed for their “Road Trippin” series featuring the highlights and historical spots of Bradley County and surrounding areas. Not only was this a great opportunity for me to learn more about Public Relations work, but it was eye opening to see more attractions Bradley County has to offer.
The horse I rode during our filming was Colorado. He was the sweetest horse! I have not been horseback riding since I was a child and I had forgotten how much I enjoy it. Before going to this location I was not aware that horseback riding was available so close to my home. I will definitely be a repeat customer of this fine establishment!
