Arts & Culture
Cleveland’s arts community has blossomed in recent years and is growing with interesting projects throughout the community. The Allied Arts Council of the Cleveland/Bradley Chamber of Commerce is celebrating 25 years of serving the community through quality programming and arts grants in the schools. The Allied Arts Council is just one of the organizations working on building and encouraging local creativity. Greenway Public Arts Committee is developing areas for art display and appreciation as well as MainStreet Cleveland and the city of Cleveland. MainStreet’s Back Alley Gallery is a wonderful new asset to Downtown Cleveland that is sure to “open doors” to further arts displays throughout the community.
Cleveland has become known for producing incredible musical talent, mostly out of the amazing music studies of Lee University. The world traveled Voices of Lee placed third on NBC’s the Singoff and Lee U student Jordan Smith won Season 9 of NBC’s The Voice. Other notable talent includes American Idol runner up Clark Beckham, American Idol finalist Jermaine Purifory and current Voice finalist Brooke Simpson. Several musical groups travel the world representing Lee University and their faith community. They are incredible ambassadors for Lee and for Cleveland.
