Back Alley Gallery

Back Alley Gallery

Back Alley Galleries is Cleveland, Tennessee's newest public art project which transforms the unused alleys into vibrant community places.

This public art project coordinated by MainStreet Cleveland transforms under-used spaces in Downtown Cleveland into charming galleries located in alleyways behind and between buildings that have become hidden treasures. The anchor site is located between 1st and 2nd streets, a half block east of Ocoee Street. The exhibit features art displayed in doorframes of all styles and shapes.  The symbolism of “opening doors” to appreciation of art and new possibilities downtown leaves an impactful impression. The galleries invite people to explore the arts in an interactive setting by opening the doors and looking inside. Special lighting adds charm to the exhibit and the space often hosts pop-up art exhibits and musical performances.
